Sekahar Kammula belongs to different genre.It is really good fortune of Andhras rather Teluguspeaking people that he knows good Telugu ,Telugu literatureMaking a picture like Leader is like Knifeedg He is sucsessfull nintypercent His Leader is simply superb Specially the Screen play and Dialouge are great. The Dialouge are not loud like Parchuri's or Bookish like Atreyas. They are down to earth often spoken by you and me So natural but solid.The choice of Hero is another trademark of Sekhar. Finally Telugucenema found a masculine and cherishmatic person. Finally we could find a Man in the league of "starsons". RANA is fantastic. His voiceculture,diction hisrestrained performance are fabulous. He reminds us Amitabh of 1970s. Making Veturi to write the lyrics shows another good taste of Sekhar. Yhe lyrics are so meaningfull. "E Sekuni Adani judam Edi Ravana Kshtam Chitilone Simantham" words are enough to tell the power of Veturi As usual The music By Mikky J Mayor's music is soulfull and melodious.

The hero is not a superhuman being nor Like Oke okkadu or Tagore or Stalin beating people from a load fullof truck or involves in the sreetfights like a goonda. Nor he is is like Purushottam Rama He has his weeknesses,he moves cunning moves in politics to preserve his chair. Like a normal human being he falls in love he does not hide that from his staff and security He feels helpless many times,frustrated for not able to do what he wants and can do He is very very common man That is the gteatness of this Movie.



Dispite all the above qualities at the end you feel some how it slipped some where! The charachter of RJ is very week and stupid. The hero with so much maturity does not deal with her honestly One wonder whether he in love with her playing with her. She enters the movie abruptly ans vanishes abruptly that too with corruption!Even the establishment of heroien and thw intimacyor love whatever may be with Hero is not well established. I donot blame hero had he pretends to be inlove only for his political strength but the whole episode is vague


Anyway Leader deserves Three cheers! Congrats Sekhar keep the flow go on! You are the light and hope!!!

MAYABAZAR--A DREAM IN COLOUR

Seeing Mayabazar in colour is nostalgic and very good experience. I have seen this movie first time in 1958 in Eluru pandurangaTakies a landmark for Vijayamovies like Durgakalamandiram in Vijayawada. Afterwards Ihave seen many times either on Tv or on vcd. Every time it evokes the same interest and enthusiasm. Actually in 1958 i was little disaoppinted as Lakshman kumara charecter was designed as bafoon whre as it is not like that originally. But the technichal aspeccts specially Marcus Barteleys Photography is superb The make up.costumes ,the artwork by Ma.Gokhale isgreat .All the settings were orginally designed in miniatures then they were shown as real settings. Itwas a big technology in those days. Vijayaproductions famous for their Technichalvalues or perfect pictuarisation and charachterisation are reached peak in this picture. Each artist though small or big you feel they wre tylormade for the artists.The dialogue,music,backgroudscore,everything isin sinc. The most beautifull face of Indian cenema Savithri, is in herpeak in this movie.Genarally Black n White pictures loose their soul when they were transfered in colour.But Mayamazar though jaded at times is good Only dissaoppiontment is some songs and sceens are cut The goldstone company and C Jaganmohan desrve a pat.
